Description

The Data Frog R36S is a Rockchip RK3326-derived retro gaming handheld with a 3.5-inch display. It shares core features with the Powkiddy RGB20S but is available at a significantly lower cost, approximately 50% less, without sacrificing performance or usability. The device combines four ARM Cortex-A35 CPU cores with a Mali-G31 GPU, making it powerful enough to handle games up to the Dreamcast and N64 generation with minimal slowdowns in some titles. Additionally, it features 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 3.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio, and a 3,500 mAh battery that provides about 4 hours of gameplay between charges. The R36S is available in black transparent, purple transparent, and white finishes for under US$35 on AliExpress. It is noted to be compatible with ArkOS, a popular OS for retro gaming handhelds. The device has the same gamepad buttons as the RGB20S, with its joysticks positioned at the bottom rather than beneath its display.
